About TSAThe Technology Student Association is a club at Manheim Township High School where students grade 6 to 12 can compete in events the range from Bio-Technology to fashion design. The club, or chapter, was student run by a group of elected club members who formed a 'Chapter Team', which was also an event. I spent three years on our chapter team and two of them as president. We ran under Roberts Rules of Order and Parliamentary Procedure, and being president gave me a great experience in leadership. We helped students compete on the regional, state, and national level, and reach their true potential in their events. I competed in several events in my four years in MTHS-TSA and have developed a strong resume.

DragsterDragster Design was an event where students build a 20 cm long dragster out of balsa wood and 3d printed wheels powered by a CO2 cartridge. I competed in this event for 4 years and had continued success and pushed several other school to take the event more seriously. Incorporating a CNC machine to perfectly shape the body and bearings to improve wheel friction. I owned this event having the fastest dragster at the regional competition all four years and placing top ten at states for 3 years, including second place at my junior year and first my senior year.

3D CAD3D CAD was an event I didn't compete in until my Junior year. Going into the event I heard nothing but negatives and how challenging it was. At regional we where given two hours to take drawing of a plumber wrench and make a 3D model and proper drawings. I came into the event late because of a scheduling conflict but still placed second. At the state conference we had 4 hours hours and a bench grinder, and again I placed second. At the National conference it was an all day event. We spent a total of eight hours at the event. A room of 100 students, two from each state, working. Myself and Sam Weintraub, the two from PA, where two of six people to finish the challenge and where told ours both looked significantly better then every one else and led to Sam's first place finish and my second place finish at the national finals.

Tech SketchingTechnical Sketching was an event I competed in my junior and senior year. The purpose is to take a written, multiple choice, test about drafting and the finalist draw a complex object. My junior year I didn't make finals for the regional competition, but my senior year I did well enough to place second at regional's and 5th at the state finals.

Chapter TeamChapter Team is different then the other events because it was a team even. 6 members would for a board of a reporter, Sargent at Arms, President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice President. They are given 15 minutes to present a fictional board meeting and use as many of Roberts Rules as possible. From motions to parliamentary inquiries. Just because I was on the chapter team doesn't mean I had to compete. Only one year did we have a team work well enough to be comfortable to compete. At the state finals the 2013 MTHS Chapter Team placed 3rd overall.
